Welcome to the Miami-Dade Chamber of Commerce’s official website.
This is an exciting time in the evolution of our growing
organization. I want first to thank you for your interest in
Florida’s oldest historically black Chamber of Commerce. That
designation means a lot to the citizens and businesses of the South
Florida area.
We pride ourselves in being the voice of the minority business
community. The Miami-Dade Chamber of Commerce was founded in 1974 to
act on behalf of the emerging black business community. And through
the years from David Fincher to Dorothy Baker and now Bill Diggs as
its leader, we will continue to hold true to that primary mission.
While we are always in a state of movement and growth we see both of
those activities as positive concepts that we will embrace. You will
see the Miami-Dade Chamber of Commerce begin to strategically
analyze its entire membership’s involvement in the mainstream of
Miami-Dade business.
We have convened a well-respected board of economists whose primary
mission will be to study how well our businesses are being utilized
in South Florida. We will not only create a study, we will also
provide solutions and we are confident that those solutions will
lead to increased business opportunities for minority owned
businesses. We are launching four other revolutionary initiatives.
They are the Women’s Business Council, the Young Professionals
Network, Urban Partnership for Prosperity, and the Business
Empowerment Networking Series.
If you are a member, thank you for your support. If you are not,
please consider joining. For without your financial support we
cannot do the work to help black businesses grow. Stay tuned to our
ever-changing website because you will find out the latest
information on the three major events which |
